Set exploring the careers of five legendary Brazilian football players: Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka and Pele. Contains documentaries showing the respective highs and lows of the players throughout each of their outstanding careers.
RonaldoDubbed "The Phenomenon", Ronaldo is considered by many to be one of the greatest footballers of all times and the most complete striker of the past 30 years. He played for seven different clubs across 18 years, he made 343 appearances in total scoring an incredible 247 goals. Ronaldo made 98 appearances for Brazil's international team scoring 62 goals, making him Brazils second top goal scorer after Pele. At the 2002 Japan/Korea World Cup, he won the Golden Boot award for top goal scorer.
Rivaldo
After a poor upbringing in the favelas, Rivaldo signed for Santa Cruz in 1991 and developed into one of the deadliest and influential play-makers and goal scorers in the game. He has a total of 504 games under his belt and has scored 254 goals. Rivaldo made his international debut in 1993, and made 74 appearances scoring 34 goals. The pinnacle of his international career was at the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea, he scored in the first 5 games and scored the winning goal in the quarterfinals against England.
Ronaldinho
Despite winning the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2004 and 2005, as well as the Ballon d'Or, Ronaldinho is extremely modest about his amazing achievements. His talent was noticed early at Gremio's youth set up, he made his professional debut for Gremio's senior side in 1998 scoring 21 goals in 52 appearances. Ronaldinho is one of the few Brazilian players to play at every international level. He made his debut for Brazil's senior side in 1999, since then he has made 97 appearances and scored 33 goals.
Kaka
Kaka made his first senior side appearance for Sao Paolo in February 2001. From 2001 - 2009 he made 59 appearances, scoring 23 goals before signing for A.C. Milan. He was consistently voted Europe's best play-maker and in his time at A.C. Milan they won the UEFA Super Cup and Champions League. Kaka won the Ballon d'Or in 2007. Kaka's first Brazilian cap was in 2002, since then he has scored 29 goals in 87 appearances and he was voted the best player of the tournament in the 2009 Confederations Cup.
Pele
Regarded by experts, retired players, current players and football fans alike as the greatest footballer of all times, this headline says it all: "How do you spell Pele? G-O-D" (The Times, June 22nd 1970). With 1000 goals under his belt, being the youngest player to win the World Cup and being the only player to win the World Cup three times, it is hard to dispute that! Pele made his first international debut in 1957 and seventy seven goals in 92 appearances for his national team.- Actors:
