Brief History of a Family (2024)

After an incident at school, Wei (Muran Lin), an only child and an outgoing boy from a middle-class family, and Shuo (Xilun Sun), a shy and observant classmate, form a connection that mysteriously draws them into each other's lives. When Shuo is introduced to Wei's parents, the couple shows great interest in the young boy's troubled past and welcomes him into their home. Gradually, Shuo begins to notice that this seemingly peaceful family life hides secrets, unmet expectations, and neglected emotions. A tragic event complicates everything further, bringing past wounds and present anxieties under careful scrutiny.
