This series celebrates the workhorse of the modern railway in a series that moves around Britain region-by-region, each film concentrating on the diesel heritage of a different area. Throughout the series, footage highlights the glorious sights and sounds of diesels at work. From the south coast to the Highlands of Scotland, and from Wales to England's east coast, we tour the land, numerous classes working freight and passenger turns, including military and nuclear transports, and fully enjoy the Glory Days of Diesel. Enjoy numerous classes of engines as they ply their trade. Incredible action footage makes every title in this series a real treat. This fabulous program, celebrates the might of diesel, an often overlooked part of British rail heritage. Covering an area which constitutes a large proportion of the British Isles, Scotland has an equally large variety of railways. Over this system in the late 1980s up to today, British Railways diesel locomotives of classes ranging from 08s to 55s have been recorded for posterity and are to be seen in this program. Nowhere else will you find such a contrast in scenery.
