Join us as we take in the spectacular scenery on this journey along the North Wales coast. It's an experience never to be forgotten with majestic cliffs, bustling towns, historic castles and sweeping beaches. Our journey begins in England at Chester with its long and colourful history but it is not long before we are in the Welsh seaside resorts of Rhyl and Llandudno. We take a brief stop at Conway Castle before heading south to Tal-y-Cafn and Bodnant Gardens, noted for its botanic collection. Soon we are in Betws-y-Coed nestling between the mountains and the forest. Shortly afterwards we leave the main line and travel on the narrow gauge Ffestiniog Railway to Porthmadog and then on to the unique Italianate town of Portmeirion. We now head to Harlech dominated by its castle before we continue south along the coast to Barmouth, taking time out to visit the Fairbourne Railway. Re-joining the main line, we pass tiny villages high above the cliffs before stopping at Machynlleth and its centre for alternative technology before we reach our destination at Aberystwyth.
