In this unique two part documentary concert the life and legacy of Buddy Holly and his music is superbly portrayed. Part one is the authentic story of the last day of rock legend Buddy Holly after the plane crash in 1959. The story is told by his band - Tommy Allsup, Waylon Jennings Carl Bunch, plus Peggy Sue Gerron, Travis Holley and the airline. Fast forward 50 years after Buddy appeared in Liverpool, Tommy Allsup joins Texan singer Johnny Rogers in the city for an anniversary tribute concert. Supported by Mal Jefferson and Allan Schroeder, this is a great live show, showing how brilliant the music still is and will always be - after 'the day the music died'.
