Manic stunt work, elaborate sight gags and mind-boggling mechanical comedy are just some of Keaton's work featured in these movies.
Battling Butler (1921) Keaton stars as Alfred Butler, a delicate man whose father decides to toughen him up by sending him to the country. There he is mistaken for a renowned boxer "Battling Butler". Rather than admit the truth he carries on with the deceit and embarks upon a rediculous training regime. Things are then complicated by the arrival of the true contender.
Haunted House (1921) A gang of counterfeiters are laundering counterfeit notes in the bank. When some are planted on Buster the bank teller, he makes a run for it and by chance finds himself in a haunted mansion which just happens to be full of booby-traps and owned by the counterfeiting gang.
Haunted House (1922) Sight gags abound in this Keaton short, set in snow-covered wastes where he parodies movie legends William S. Hart and Eric Von Stronheim.
