- This drama based on a true story traces the grim events at a Canadian home for unwed mothers in the 1930's and 1940's. Lila and William Young, owners of the Ideal Maternity Home, have a spotless public image as a dedicated couple helping pregnant women. But there's a hidden dark side to their operation, including starving babies considered unadoptable and burying them in butter boxes.
