Cold Porcelain is the common name attributed to art made from unfired porcelain compounds. Unfired porcelain is not fired in a kiln like traditional porcelain products, it is designed to be formed into the desired shape and then air dried, hence the name "cold" porcelain is derived from this characteristic. The qualities inherent in unfired porcelain compound allow artisans to create all sorts of replicas with amazing life like detail. Using similar tools and techniques as sugarcraft it has inspired the expansion of the possibilities of creative cake decorating.
