- In the dying days of Empire, Ancient Rome falls under the rule of Caligula (Malcolm McDowell), the most evil and perverse emperor ever to wield power over men. Director and softcore legend Tinto Brass and Penthouse publisher Bob Guccione team upto craft the most expensive, excessive erotic production ever filmed. Emperor Caligula is an incestuous, psychopathic despot, hell bent on bloodshed and sodomy in this orgiastic fever dream that plays like a Fellini movie with money shots. WARNING this is the 90 minute heavilly edited & censored version - Caligula review by CP Customer
Seek out the full version of this film instead (120mins or more). There is far too much of the film edited out in this 90 minute version - and the context of the scenes and plot is completely lost. At 90 mins you are not seeing the real film and why it was, and still is, so controversial. Watch the real version - you'd never watch this with your Gran no matter how much editing is done, so watch the real one!
