Carmina (Carmina Barrios) and her husband Antonio (Paco Causas) live in a poor district of Sevilla. When Antonio returns home after work he complains to his wife about a stomachache and sits in a chair. As it turns out he is never to get up again…In complete despair Carmina calls her beloved daughter María (María León) and urges her to come at once. Seeing the entire situation María decides to call an ambulance or police as soon as possible…Which makes for a completely normal reaction, doesn’t it? Well not for Carmina! In this moment of deep grief she recalls herself that her late husband was to collect his monthly salary in two days’ time.
She forbids her daughter from calling the authorities and decides to keep the corps throughout the weekend in order to report the situation upon collecting the money. Thus begins a series of funny and absurd adventures that Carmina and her daughter María will have to face. How will they manage? Will they succeed in keeping their secret to themselves?
