Carrie and Barry are a happily-married, forty-something couple with the usual things on their mind - keeping their marriage vaguely alive, the walking nightmare that is a teenage step-child, and how to get the most out of their hot-tub. Together they face life's little problems. Like what to do when: 1. You realise your sex life has gradually been replaced by hours of compulsive car-crash telly programmes. 2. Your best friend interrupts an erotic scenario involving your wife, a fireman's outfit and a very long hose! 3. You are bored enough to try on your wife's clothes and stupid enough to get caught by your teenage daughter. Perhaps life would be simpler without the intrusions of the sartorially challenged Kirk - co-owner of Barry's black cab (he does the night shifts), hapless, tactless and desperately sexually frustrated. Or, perhaps they wouldn't miss Carrie's acid-tongued best friend and fellow beautician, Michelle - a man-hater who unsurprisingly has plenty of boyfriends but no long-term relationships. But then again somebody has to make Carrie and Barry look normal...
