To be honest, life sucks for Gemma Perkins (Connie Fisher). She's still living at home with her overbearing stepmother and her downtrodden father. The only boy interested in her is neighbour Marcus and she has a low paid job, emptying car park meters for her local council. Gemma takes solace in her secret passion: Elvis Presley. Elvis has never let her down. She plays his records, watches his films, and knows everything about his music and his life. When Gemma discovers how easy it is to spend the car parking meter money and it not be noticed by colleagues, it quickly becomes addictive. What starts out as comfort spending - glasses for her father, donations to charity - soon becomes bigger, bolder and more obsessive. Gemma starts buying Elvis Presley memorabilia - a record here, a pack of cards there. Purchases are getting bigger and more expensive and if she doesn't rein in her spending habits she's going to get caught. - Actors:
