- This controversial yet critically lauded film emanated from the extremely productive underground arts scene of the 1960's. A hypnotic, psychedelic style informs the semi-autobiographical story of a cocaine addict who experiences a reaffirmation of life while visiting Switzerland. A surreal alternation between mindscapes and reality, Chappaqua features Beat icons Allen Ginsberg and William S. Burroughs, as well as free jazz guru Ornette Coleman.
