Set against the backdrop of the 2016 US Presidential Election, political thriller 'Chimerica' explores the murky borders between fact and fiction; truth and censorship. Renowned American photojournalist Lee Berger has spent the best part of his career working in war zones, trying to recapture the early success of his electrifying photograph, the Tank Man - an image he took of a young man nearly 30 years ago in Tiananmen Square standing up to the might of the Chinese military. However, when accusations of "fake news" are levelled against him, his world falls apart. Desperate to reclaim his credibility and remember the photographer he used to be, Lee sets out on a journey to find the Tank Man but as he delves deeper, his frantic search places the very people he is trying to protect in grave danger.
