Choppy and the Princess (1967 - 1968)

Choppy and the Princess is a Japanese animated drama series about the adventures of a princess and her trusty sidekick, an angel trying to regain his wings. The series follows Princess Sapphire, the next in line to a kingdom who must pretend she is a boy to her people to maintain her place as rightful ruler over that of an evil Duke. The series follows Sapphire and Choppy, an angel waiting for his wings, as they try and stop the Duke from taking over as well as protect the people of her kingdom from strange villains and threats.
