the real Christmas Carol - A Christmas Carol review by JW

I loved how close this film sticks to the actual words of Dickens in the book. The animation makes it at the very scary end of the spectrum of Christmas Carol versions but I liked that. It is meant to be a ghost story after all and should have a few chills. It did get a bit far in the last section of Christmas future, but it certainly made sense after that for Scrooge to reform. The Jim Carrey Scrooge looked so mean he didn't look very likely to turn nice so maybe it would take all that. I think it is one of the better versions though not really for younger kids unless you want to give them nightmares.
