Chthonic: A Decade on the Throne (2007)

Extreme metal band Chthonic merges the traditional folklore of Taiwan with strong, pounding rhythms to bring ancient stories into the modern world. In this concert film, the group is backed by an Oriental orchestra and the Taipei Ladies' Choir. Chthonic, Greek for "of the underworld," uses heavy makeup and gritty, driving sounds to deliver a message that ranges from anger to despair.
