Winston Churchill is renowned as the legendary war leader inspiring Britain in its finest hour. 'Churchill' is the story of the man behind the legend told by those that knew him. It includes un seen archive footage, private home-movie collections, belonging to his family and friends, first hand personal testimonies, as well as recently discovered still photographs, original letters and diaries. The programme explores how this formidable character was formed during an early life set against some of the most turbulent events in British history: The Boer War, The First World War and The General Strike.
