Pat (Diane Lane) and Bill (Tim Robbins) Loud are approached by producer Craig Gilbert (James Gandolfini) to make television history - to become the first "real-life" family to allow cameras into their home and their private lives. Soon enough, the cameras reveal deep-seated family issues, revolving around the marriage, the children, and the emerging ambitions of eldest son Lance (Thomas Dekker). Also exposed is the critical conflict between Gilbert and his fellow filmmakers as they embark upon a groundbreaking, unscripted journey where no one could imagine the consequences.
