- Synopsis:
- Sarah Norton (Tatum O'Neal) is a rebellious sixteen year-old prep school girl just discovering her newfound sexuality. After an argument in a diner with her boyfriend, she finds comfort in a conversation with stranger Ashley St. Claire (Richard Burton), an ageing artist in his prime. They both find that they share a love for art and literature, he encourages her to write and she persuades him to paint again. And so begins this May to September ill-fated romance, when two people so wrong for each other are really so right.
