In 1993, the last seven Victors were permanently grounded. 55 Squadron performed a moving disbandment flypast to mark the occasion - 41 years after the prototype first flew - and the last of Britain's V-Force aircraft were finally consigned to the pages of history. It was a very different story in the early 1960's. In October 1962, they would come to the brink of nuclear war over the Cuban Missile Crisis - and the RAF V-Force of Vulcans, Victors and Valiants were put on maximum alert. Victors were ready to strike at a moment's notice, armed with 'Yellow Sun' - Britain's H-Bomb. The crisis was averted and Doomsday missions were never flown. Victor reveals once top secret details of the V-Force's counter attack plans and features exclusive footage from inside the Victor's cockpit itself. This unique video also features previously unseen archive footage of the 'Blue Steel' nuclear missale development programme. In later years, the Victor would be converted from a bomber to a tanker and served with distinction refuelling its old V-Force comrade the Vulcan on long range 'Black Buck' strikes against the Argentines in The Falklands, as well as playing an important role in The Gulf. Now, sadly, the Victor is just a memory. Victor is a detained history of this remarkable old warhorse, packed with rare and dramatic film of the Victor from it's initial development and test flights right through to the final salute by 55 Squadron in 1993.
