Three years ago, author Kate Saunders (Kim Delaney) penned a best-selling novel about a grisly serial murderer. But in a twisted tale of life imitating art, her work inspired a psychotic reader whose prey included the author herself. Left crippled from a three-story fall while fleeing her would-be killer, Kate now lives in the Pacific Northwest in a state-of-the-art telecommunications fortress that keeps her in touch, but far removed from the real world.
