Synopsis:
Based on an incredible true story, Coach Carter is the inspirational account of controversial basketball coach Ken Carter, who received both high praise and staunch criticism when he made national news for a gymnasium "lockout" of his entire undefeated team for poor academic performance. With the players, the parents, and the community rallying to get the team back on the court, Carter must overcome the obstacles of his environment and show the young men a future that stretches beyond gangs, drugs, prison and even basketball.

I loved this true story of how minds and thinking can be changed to impact both adults and teenagers alike, when we take a stand and refuse to be pushed into the world view of how we are suppose to behave.

Samuel is as always excellent as Coach Carter, which fine support from the guys who play the team.

One of those movies that leaves you with a warm glow, all the more so as it is a true story. Samuel L Jackson is really good in the title role, demanding respect and team work from an undiscipled bunch of under-achievers. He turns the team around using somewhat unconvential methods and is repaid with their loyalty. The lads playing the basketball team are all good actors and there are a few bits that may my jaw quiver as they turn their lives around and have something to aspire to.
