- When Swedish mercenary Yod Peterson (Franco Nero) arrives in the war-torn Mexican town of San Bernardino in the midst of a revolution, he discovers that revolutionary leader General Xantos has the combination to a safe containing a secret stash of gold. Peterson feigns loyalty to Xantos, but before he can make off with the loot, his ex-partner (Jack Palance) gets on his trail, determined to pick some riches for himself.
