Eight years ago, Connie (Stephanie Beacham) 'retired' to Greece to run a taverna with a local Adonis. Now, her return to her native East Midlands and the industry she loves sends ripples of fear through the dingy offices of her former rivals; they all guess, correctly, that she wants a slice of the action. But who will give her the all-important toehold? Her family and friends are no help and what nobody knows is that although Connie came back on a first-class ticket, she got off the plane wearing a simple cotton dress, nursing a bandaged hand and clutching a handbag containing nothing but tissues, a lipstick and ten drachma.
