- Synopsis:
The life, or lack thereof, of a proprietor of a gas station, which is the only stop for miles around and a hub of action on the Prairies...Brent (Brent Butt) accepts the offer of a haircut from Karen, only to raise the ire of his regular "barber" Emma (Janet Wright), who proves territorial about the task. Hank (Fred Ewanuick) tests Lacey's patience after promising to stain her deck. Davis (Lorne Cardinal) tries to convince Oscar (Eric Peterson) to replace the muffler on his car, which is as loud as it is old...Hank is hired to tear down a local's barn, which Oscar interrupts because he thinks the act could earn him Newsmaker of the Year. In his own attempt to win this honor, Davis hires Wanda (Nancy Robertson) to take action photos of him - a foolproof plan except that Karen keeps weaseling her way into the pictures. Meanwhile, Lacey (Gabrielle Miller) is frustrated at having to constantly re-do Emma's nails...Brent and Oscar have to take Davis on one their annual camping trip which makes things more complicated than they would have liked. Hank finds himself with a once-in-a-lifetime good hair day and does his best to hold on to it. And in an effort to prove to each other how difficult their jobs are, Lacey and Wanda decide to switch jobs for a while... - Actors:
