In 1519 a Spanish adventurer 'Cortes' (Brian McCardie) landed in Central America with a tiny army of Spanish Conquistadors. Having recently fallen out of favour his quest was to find gold for his King and by doing so he hoped to win back respect. Instead Cortes discovered a huge civilisation and driven by opportunity he went to war against the mighty Aztec Empire in the name of his King, country and the Holy Roman Catholic Church. Heavily outnumbered Cortes needed to recruit support and was able to cunningly start a civil war by unifying some of the other tribes who were opposed to Aztec rule and so created a new coalition army to challenge their rule. Cortes a man driven by ambition desperately needed to win this war to restore his name and bring back glory to his King. It would end in a titanic battle, the annihilation of an entire people and the destruction of a dream. - Actors:

Hi All
Be aware - this appears to be a BBC 'B' Film - its filmed like a documentary, with thrown in actors, good for kids and those who enjoy 'factual' history. Dont bother. Sayonara
