In 1963, no one would have dreamed that a El Cerrito Junior High School band called "The Blue Velvets" would transform into one of the greatest and most popular modern rock 'n' roll band to date. Spearheaded by the enormous talent of John Fogerty, Creedence Clearwater Revival released a long string of hit singles and albums throughout the 1960's and 70's. They remain one of the top selling bands in the history of the modern music industry. Unfortunately, several poor business decisions early on in the life of the band continued to plague the relationship amongst band members, and despite their unparalleled success, CCR most likely disbanded well before they had completely peaked in popularity. The continual discord between members of CCR also contributed to the limited amount of media coverage and public performances, giving the band a somewhat elusive persona.
