- Synopsis:
- American airborne divisions the 82nd and the 101st Landed on the Cotentin peninsular protecting the right flank of the American landing beaches Utah and Omaha. Utah was a Walk over for the Americans, however Omaha turned out to be a blood bath as wave after wave of troops were mown down as they landed. Only American grit kept them pushing forward until eventually the beach was secure.
