Danny Kaye was at the height of his popularity when 'The Danny Kaye Show' debuted on CBS in the autumn of 1963. A pair of Broadway hits 'Lady In the Dark' and 'Let's Face It' and a succession of classic films including 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty', 'The Inspector General', 'Knock on Wood', 'Up In Arms', 'The Court Jester', 'Hans Christian Andersen' and 'White Christmas' made Danny Kaye one of the biggest stars in show business. During four top-rated television seasons 'The Danny Kaye Show' and its host welcomed some of the great icons of the entertainment industry. 'Danny Kaye: Legends' collects six classic episodes of the show featuring Louis Armstrong, Lucille Ball, Tony Bennett, George Burns, Shirley Jones and Liberace. The collection also features performances by the Righteous Brothers (singing their number one hit "You've Lost That Loving Feeling") French songstress Mireille Mathieu, Vikki Carr, John Gary and Imogene Coca. Also featured are series regulars Harvey Korman, Joyce Van Patten and orchestra leader Paul Weston. All of Danny Kaye's considerable talents are on display in 'Danny Kaye Legends', and with guests like Lucy and Satchmo he's in wonderful company.
