- Single mum Dawn Anna (Debra Winger) struggles to find a teaching job so she can support her four children. Once she lands a job as a teacher and coach and has a romantic relationship developing, she's suddenly struck down by a debilitating illness. After complicated surgery, she's forced to learn how to speak and walk again. But when her next crisis is also a national disaster that shocks the world, Dawn must summon all of her inner strength and the love of the family she raised to make it through the unbelievable tragedy and heroically continue with her life.
