Pennsylvania 1968. A strange viral outbreak is contained within the walls of a military hospital: people exposed are disposed of, burned to a crisp, and the incident covered up. 35 years on and the military are gone, replaced with a mental hospital. When five patients are about to be released, they uncover a secret buried within the compound and unwittingly unleash the virus. Designed to speed human evolution, it turns people into powerful creatures capable of astounding feats... and incredible cruelty. In order for their survival, they must feed on human flesh: but a bite from these creatures creates a new state of existence, their subordinates - the Living Dead.
