In the far northern reaches of the planet a rare breed of extreme fishermen still ply the Bering Sea. Adventure is their call, crab is their prey, and a $100 million dollar plunder is their reward. With 40ft waves, 700lb crab pots, and freezing Arctic temperatures, it's the deadliest job on earth. In this series, the captains and crews of five fishing boats have to deal with some of the harshest situations they have ever had to face. With a new set of rules to abide by, the ships and the crews have new deadlines, more stress, and more treacherous conditions to contend with. They will battle the Arctic weather, boat-crushing ice, hurricane-force winds, storms and rough waters as well as sleep deprivation to see who can get the biggest haul of the valuable crabs during the season and make their dangerous journey worth it. This year sees a fracture in the Bering Sea brotherhood. Old allies become mortal enemies and fishing turns personal. While some skippers rage against each other, another skipper fights a lone battle just to stay alive. Last season, eight men lost their lives to the Bering Sea.
