Based on an awarded trilogy about Olof Palme, SVT has produced a drama series in four episodes about the, still today, unsolved murder of the former Swedish prime minister. A young American journalist commits suicide by jumping out of a window from the 15th floor of a dorm building. The police soon close the investigation, blit in the papers the journalist left behind, a manuscript is found describing the Swedish Prime Minister and his alleged past as a spy. Olof Palme, the document claims, worked for the CIA after World War II, but later sold out to the Soviet Union. Twenty years later, LM Johansson (Rolf Lassgård) now heads the Swedish National Bureau of Investigation and decides to solve the Palme case once and for all. He gathers his best investigators to embark on the world's most extensive police investigation. Soon a new, surprising line of enquiry develops.
