Charles Bronson reprises his role as Paul Kersey in the most exciting chapter of the "Death Wish" series. A grim scene faces Kersey at the apartment of his buddy Charlie when he finds Charlie's battered and pummeled body the blood stained lineoleum floor of his five-story walk-up. Before the full shock of the scene registers, police detectives burst into the room and arrest Kersey. At the station, Police Chief Shriker recognizes Kersey as the one-man vigilante that swept through his precinct ten years before, killing muggers, rapists, and murderers. He jails Kersey. Public Defender Kathryn Davis wants Kersey to fight for his rights. Aware of the deterioration of his neighborhoods and the poor results the police have had, Shriker allows Kersey his freedom.under one condition: Kersey must once again begin eradicating the heinous gangs that hold the streets in terror. Kersey moves into Charlie's apartment and begins to investigate the area. He gets to know the fear-ridden neighbours, among them Bennett, Charii e's best friend, who promises help Kersey. He observes the sub-human gang and their leader, Fraker, a warped, power-demon who holds a hypnotic sway over his zombie-like followers. Kathryn, who finds herself attracted to Kersey, is killed by Fraker during a siege Fraker has launched against Kersey and his allies. With the aid of a new, highly sophisticated weapon, Kersey retaliates in a fight that sends innocent bystanders running for their lives. A final confrontation on a rooftop soon brings Fraker's reign to an end.
