- In the 1980's, lonely desperados wander the streets of Hamburg's St. Pauli district. The trio - the taxi driver Skoda (Siemen Rühaak), the hairdresser Liane (Beate Finckh) and ex-prostitute Hilke (Vera Tschechowa) - are united by their desire to leave everything behind. As their paths cross, there is a brief glimmer of hope, yet the dream of a better life is shattered by an oppressive reality.
