Carol Roger's beloved daughter Wendy lies in a coma, raped and beaten. A man is arrested - a trusted employee at Wendy's school - and the police assure Carol that justice will be done. But the courts fail her, and the man accused of inflicting untold horrors on her innocent daughter goes unpunished. Numbed with shock at the injustice of this tragedy, Carol seizes the only course of action open to her: she takes the law into her own hands. But Carol is about to discover that the same law that lets a brutal attacker walk free has no mercy for a mother who has sought her own desperate form of justice.
