- Synopsis:
- Gabe (Dennis Quaid), Karen (Andie MacDowell), Tom (Greg Kinnear) and Beth (Toni Collette). Two couples, four friends. Their lives closely intertwined by familiar bonds of love, marriage, parenthood and companionship. Then, one night at dinner, somewhere between the pumpkin risotto and the lemon almond polenta cake, Beth dissolves into heaving sobs, blurting out the news that Tom is leaving her for another woman. This unexpected revelation catapults both couples into a re-evaluation of their lives, their friendships, their marriages and their dreams for the future.
