Writer Brian Carter's love and respect for the moor shines through in this beautiful, evocative and richly informative film. The cinematography, both ariel and ground based brings to bear the sheer beauty, the sense of timelessness, the freedom, solitude, challenge, inspiration and magic of Dartmoor. The bare, weathered Tors and rolling hills begin to warm and glow in the fresh Spring sunshine whilst in the lower valleys the flowers are blooming in a riot of colour amongst standing stones, stone circles and crosses, clapper bridges, the tin mines and picturesque stone houses. As the tourists arrive, we see Buckfast Abbey in all it's glory, the origin of the Rivers Taw, Tavey, Teign and East Dart. There's Sheepdog Trails, Climbers, Hang-gliders, Windsurfers and the traditional Widecombe Fair. But above it all Dartmoor never loses her dignity, her might, her beauty and attraction. - Actors:
