Django: Swing Guitar (2006)

Featuring all existing footage of Django Reinhardt plus rare photographs, letters and his paintings, this illuminating documentary chronicles the Belgian-born guitar great's too-short career. Reinhardt grew up in gypsy encampments, where he began playing music at an early age and suffered a horrible accident that led to his distinctive technique. With two of his left fingers paralyzed, the young Reinhardt had to learn a new way to play.
