- Synopsis:
- Doctor Finlay is a classic British period drama series based on the books by A. J Cronin. The series follows the titular Dr John Finlay (David Rintoul), a doctor who has just returned from the 2nd world war and how he reintegrates into society and rejoins the practice he shares with fellow doctor Alexander Cameron (Ian Bannen). The series also looks at Finlay’s personal life and his friendship with his housekeeper Janet (Annette Crosbie) and his efforts to help with the setting up of the new National Health Service.
