- "Chicken Ranch" chronicles the action in a legalised brothel 50 miles outside of Las Vegas. Its fifteen girls live in large trailers and the majority of the customers fly in on the brothel's own plane. Broomfield records the lives of the colourful characters working and 'visiting' the Chicken Ranch. This mischeivous and probing portrait signalled the genesis of what would evolve into Broomfield's intimate and inimatable style.
