Synopsis:
What a year 2021 was for the Saints. Betfred Challenge Cup and Grand Final winners, the Double Champions retaining their Betfred Super League crown which also secured their very own 'three-peat'. At Wembley, with supporters finally allowed back, the atmosphere was electric. In the blistering sunshine, Castleford Tigers provided the opposition and Daryl Powell's men led 12-6 at half time. St. Helens responded through captain James Roby, Tommy Makinson and an emotional Kyle Amor, each scoring second half tries to end their 13-year wait for Challenge Cup success. Catalans had won the League Leaders' Shield and having dramatically defeated St. Helens at Magic Weekend, Old Trafford was primed for a fitting finale to the season. This time Saints led at the break, but Mike McMeeken's try edged the Dragons ahead, before Kevin Naiqama's second score of the game broke French hearts and sealed a third successive Grand Final triumph for the Red V. The double-disc set contains both games in full, plus extra features showing all the celebrations afterwards and highlights of the women's finals as St. Helens, led by Woman of Steel Jodie Cunningham, lifted the Betfred Challenge Cup and Super League Grand Final trophies for the very first time.
