- Synopsis:
The advent of Blair's Britain brings dark days for Globelink News. So are they pulling together? Is the Ayatollah a Catholic? The egotistical and cynical bunch continue to bicker, fight, tease, gamble and mock their way through the day's news. As Globelink News slides into inevitable meltdown, the team become increasingly desperate for new opportunities. Henry is finding the demand for alcoholic, sex-addicted, ageing newsreaders at an all-time low; Sally is courting septuagenarian millionaires; Damien desperately tries to create one last scoop - even releasing his own Beast of Bodmin - and Gus has gone "East Dagenham" (four stops from Barking). To the last, this series continued to hit its targets with unerring accuracy - the new Labour government, crass satellite TV and desperate journalists all getting the DTDD treatment. With a fantastic finale, the show bows out as sharp and funny as ever.
