- Synopsis:
- Gary Brannon (Audie Murphy) lives quietly with his father Sam (Walter Brennan), an honest homesteader, in the failing gold town of Crown City. While Sam works hard to maintain peace between the local populace and the neighboring Indian Ute tribe, Gary is consumed with hate for them ever since one of their number killed his mother. The Ute's mineral rich territory has become the region's only remaining exploitable resource, and local crook Frank Walker is determined to drive the Indians from their land, and gain control.
