It's rumoured that an ancient species known as the Tasmanian Tiger is alive and breeding and Zoology student Nina claims she can reveal the tiger's existence to be true. What Nina doesn't know is how Tasmania became the world's most dangerous island in 19th century when the murderous convict known as The Pieman broke out of prison only to eat his fellow escapees. He was hung for cannibalism in 1824, but not before he had spawned a blood line who inherited his taste for human flesh. When Nina sets out on an expedition with her partner Matt, and his old mate Jack and his girlfriend Rebecca, they encounter the island's reigning breed, one who stands on two legs, not four. The Pieman Clan has survived and their need to feed and breed turns the group into the next endangered species.
