For me this was easily the best TV comedy of the past five years. If you like shows like the U.S version of ‘The Office’, ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ and ‘I'm Alan Partridge’ then this will be right up your street. It’s very similar in style to Jody Hill’s ‘The Foot Fist Way’ revolving around the character of ‘Kenny Powers’ an egotistical, obnoxious and thoroughly offensive washed up baseball star, who after a fall from grace returns to his small Carolina home town and is forced to take a job as substitute gym teacher while he plans his return to the big leagues. The series is shot in chronological order and is effectively a three hour film edited into six consistently funny half hour episodes. The quality of writing is great, Danny McBride is utterly superb and the supporting cast is top notch. A must see comedy!
