Eddie Presley is a faded Elvis impersonator whose life has also faded away. Fed up with living a life of broken dreams, Eddie decides it's time for one last comeback from the King of Elvis impersonators. Fighting against the doubters and the impresarios that refuse to book him, Eddie finally lands a gig in a seedy Las Vegas nightclub. But the performance that he gives with an impromptu breakdown on stage is one that neither Eddie, nor the audience, will ever forget. Director Jeff Burr delivers a fine movie that became a cult hit in America, and the cast reads like an overspill from a Tarantino movie including the great man himself. Based on the stage play written by Duane Whitaker himself is a movie with black comedy, hysterical desperation and a real heart.
