His energised interpretations of songs and provocative performance style, combined with a singularly potent mix of influences across colour lines during a transformative era in race relations, led him to great success. This film showcases the Elvis phenomenon; and how the "King" controversially gave birth to Rock and Roll in an era of conservatism and conformity.
