Synopsis:
The story of the early years of Elvis Presley and how he walked into the offices of the Memphis Recording Service to make a private recording as a present for his Mother has long since passed into legend. However as with all legends individual versions tend to differ if not on the substance then certainly on the detail. This sixty minutes video provides a unique in-depth view of the early days of Marion Keisker and Sam Phillips and focuses both on how their careers coincided and the effect they had on the early days of the King. In this video Marion Keisker is able to put the record straight about what really happened on those very early recording sessions. But so too is Sam Phillips with quite fascinating results! Also featured are many other characters and personalities who played their own parts in the early days Elvis's career including his life-long friend George Klein together with Rufus Thomas, Wink Martindale, Chet Atkins, Bill Randle and his first boss at the Crown Electric Company. With the addition of exclusive location footage shot in Memphis this video presents the definitive story of the Sun Days as recalled by those who were there. As such it is not only a fascinating historical item but also a fitting tribute to the Marion Keisker.
